Heart Nightclub Sues City of Miami & Its Residents Over Enforcement of Noise Ordinance

Heart Nightclub Sues City of Miami & Its Residents Over Enforcement of Noise Ordinance

November 27, 2017

Tensions are rising in the Park West neighborhood as Heart Nightclub has sued the City of Miami and its residents over conspiring to shut down the entertainment district. For years residents at some of Downtown Miami's most luxurious buildings including Marquis, Ten Museum Park, and 900 Biscayne have complained about noise from the 24-7 nightclubs located behind. Heart, Club Space, The Hanger and E11even, amongst others, have drawn late night crowds to the area for years. The city began enforcing citations over Memorial Day Weekend of this year and the clubs have since made efforts to reduce noise. Despite that, the area, which was once a desolate filled with homeless, crime and empty lots has transformed into the premier neighborhood in downtown. The ultra-luxurious One Thousand Museum will open next year, followed by PARAMOUNT Miami Worldcenter. On the other flank, MiamiCentral will bring a major transport hub with retail and dining. Residential populations, prices, and retail locations are all rising fast and residents feel that 24-7 clubs can at times be way to loud. The newer construction E11even, which is one of Miami's most popular hotspots, suppresses the noise extremely well but Heart and Club Space can become extremely loud at times as late as 6:30 am including a rooftop terrace which residents want enclosed; Heart estimates the cost would be over $1 million.
